NightApply is a self-hosted job-search autopilot. It polls the careers pages and job boards you tell it about, scores every new posting against your CV and preferences, writes a cover letter and every form answer in your voice, and then applies for you automatically by filling the real application form in a browser. Replies land in the Inbox tab, linked to the job.
Yes. In hybrid mode you approve a match and the engine prepares and submits the application without further input. In full-auto mode it applies to everything above the match score you set. With preview-before-submit on, it fills the form, shows you a screenshot, and submits on your OK.
Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever and Workable forms, which cover most startups, plus a generic filler for other pages. Text fields, dropdowns, typeaheads, radio buttons and the CV upload are handled. CAPTCHAs and email-verification gates stop the run and hand that job back to you.
You need at least one PDF resume to upload with applications. Several variants are fine; the matcher picks the best one per posting (for example a code-first variant for engineering roles and a leadership variant for DevRel roles).
No. Every letter and answer is written for that specific posting from your profile, CV text and answer library. The tailoring rules ban filler phrases and forbid inventing facts. Anything it cannot source from your record comes back marked [NEEDS YOU] instead of being made up.
The application is submitted through the company's own form with your real details and a letter written in your voice. What an employer sees is the same as if you had typed it. Keep the daily cap sensible: agent-shaped volume on a small target list gets noticed.
The software is yours and runs on your machine. The only running cost is Claude API usage on your own key: one short call per posting scored, and a longer one per application prepared.
In one SQLite file in the data folder next to the app, together with screenshots of every filled form. Nothing is sent anywhere except to the company you are applying to and to the Claude API for scoring and writing.
No. LinkedIn is never automated; the risk to your account is not worth it. LinkedIn notification emails still show up in the Inbox tab through the read-only Gmail sync.
Yes. Upload as many resume variants as you like and tag them by variant and region. Every generated cover letter is kept under Cover Letters and can be rewritten with an instruction, for example "shorter, lead with the SDK refactor".
